- Due to some legal issues, a guy removed all his js libraries from npm, including one called "left pad" which was used by tons of projects (it was downloaded 2.5 millions time per month), including main one in JS ecosystem such as Babel, React and others. It leads to many apps being broken for some time when trying to build them. Beyond the issue by itself, it raise questions such as security or fraud ones, the issue with siloted/centralised repositories (npm, github, etc), how companies in charge of this silo manage them, but most important how people consider programming and the use of libs. Some discussions also on what is/should be part of standard/native language and other considerations.
